DescriptionThis figure, one of a set representing The Four Corners of the Globe, is a personification of America from a distinctly Eurocentric perspective. The figure, with a feathered headdress and a quiver of arrows, is depicted as a Native American. The alligator at its feet was America’s most commonly used animal attribute.
