DescriptionPhilip Christian was in partnership with Richard Chaffers to produce porcelain in Liverpool beginning in about 1755. Their factory site was probably a former delftware pottery. Chaffers died in 1765, leaving Christian in charge of the operation, which then styled its name as Philip Christian and Company.
ProvenanceMiss Ima Hogg; given to MFAH, 1972.
