Description

Technical notes and description: Twill-weave wool face; tabby-weave wool back; wool filling; wool thread. The three-panel face of this quilt, of dark green, probably imported, glazed, worsted fabric, is patterned with green thread in quilting running stitches that create a central motif: two confronting units from which floral sprays spread. Bold featherlike leaves form a scrolling border. The background is covered with diagonal lines. Quilting stitches secure napped green backing, wool filling, and face fabric.
