Photographers have long sought to capture movement in a single image, but no one has done so as dizzyingly as Pelle Cass in his Crowded Fields series. After taking thousands of photographs in the samelocation at a sporting event he then painstakingly selected and combined them in Photoshop. “I change nothing—not a pixel,” Casse says. “[I] only select what to keep and what to omit. It all happened just as you see it, just not at the same time. In fact, my composite photographs show more information and more truth about an hour than any still.”
