DescriptionJames Allen was born in 1825 in Georgia or Alabama and moved to Texas about 1855. He was a son-in-law to Matthew Duncan and worked in Duncan’s Bastrop County, Texas, pottery and later on his own in northern Bastrop County or adjacent Lee County.
