Description

Although similar to (B.20.1), this chair is much simpler in its overall details. However, the columnar turning of the arm supports is distinctive. The single spindle-shaped side stretchers of this example place it closer to the Boston caned and leather-bottomed chairs, which were its prototype.

Technical notes: Soft maple (front legs, stretchers), birch (rear legs, front seat rail); ash (side and rear seat rails).
