DescriptionThis print, published in the periodical The European Magazine, satirizes the impact of the rebellions in the American colonies and Ireland on the British governmental coalition. Following the Irish Rebellion of 1782, the British government was compelled to grant Ireland concessions for self-government. In the American Revolution, fighting effectively ended in 1781, with the war officially concluding with the Treaty of Paris in 1783.
