This table was one of the first pieces of Texas-made furniture that Miss Ima Hogg added to her collection. A relatively common Texas German form, it features the characteristic tapering curved legs typical of the late classical style—now often called Biedermeier—in which many German cabinetmakers worked long after its wider popularity had ended.
