DescriptionThis compote features a view along the Hudson River near Weehawken, New Jersey. The image was adapted from a work by the English artist William Henry Bartlett, who traveled to the United States to record scenic views that were later engraved and published in American Scenery: or Land, Lake, and River Illustrations of Transatlantic Nature.
