Description

The terms "Berlin wool work" and "tapestry embroidery" were used interchangeably well into the twentieth century. This picture's composition is classically inspired interior with drapery swags pulled back above their heads. King Saul is seated, with a servant nearby, while David stands before him playing a harp.
