[1] See Sainsaulieu, Marie-Caroline et al., “Henri Manguin, Catalogue raisonné de l’oeuvre peint,” (Neuchâtel: Ides et Calendes, 1980), no. 149, p. 86, illus., which provides the Vollard purchase date. This painting was one of the 152 artworks Vollard purchased from Manguin on 24 March 1906 for a total of 7000 [French francs]. [See Base Vollard. [2] In letter dated May 19, 1983, Maurice Sternberg writes to Mrs. Audrey Jones Beck acquiring “eleven paintings from a private collection in Le Vesinet” and notes that her Manguin came from this same collection.
