DescriptionGerman-born silversmith left his homeland, fleeing political unrest. He was first listed in New Orleans city directories in 1852. He entered a short-lived partnership with another German immigrant, Christoph Christian Küchler. They established a relationship with New Orleans retailer Hyde and Goodrich that Himmel continued after the partnership’s dissolution.
