DescriptionEdward F. Caldwell and Company was established in 1895 in New York City and rose to prominence as a manufacturer of lighting fixtures and decorative metal wares, such as boxes and clocks. The firm was at its peak in the 1920s and continued in operation until 1959. Most of their work was in traditional, historical styles. They manufactured goods of their own design and incorporated antique components in their products.
Provenance[Edward F. Caldwell & Co., New York]; purchased by Miss Ima Hogg, 1928; Estate of Miss Ima Hogg, 1975; given to MFAH, 1977.
