DescriptionImogen
Cunningham is best known for the photographs she created of flowers in her San
Francisco garden during the 1920s and 1930s. An innovator in West Coast photography,
Cunningham was one of seven original members of Group f/64, who rejected
soft-focus, sentimental imagery in favor of photographs like Magnolia Bud that convey a sensuous
delight in nature with crystalline clarity.
