La province du Texas touche au Nord, les contrées sauvages de la Louisiane, à l’Est la Nouvelle Orleáns, au sud le Golfe du Mexique et à l’Ouest St. Ander et Cohanisia séparés par la riviére del / Norte. Le Texas s’etend entre le 27°. et le 38°. dégré de latitude et entre le 96°. et le 10°. De longitude du méridien de Paris sa largeur varie du N” au S” de 75 à 150 lieues. et s a longueur del’E / à lO”est de 135 à 140 lieues les Espagnols le découvrurent en 1520. Les français s’y établirent en 1555. sous François 1er. Mais les Espagnols y revinrent en 1595.
