Description

The tall beakers stamped by Edward Danforth are among the most noble American interpretations of this simple drinking vessel. By the early nineteenth century the form began to diminish in height, and occasionally a handle was introduced. As production methods improved, reflecting the use of new alloys and technology, examples were either fashioned of seamed sheet metal or by spinning.
