DescriptionJoseph Danforth, Sr. produced this pewter plate (see B.60.65 and B.60.66). Danforth’s plate integrates a hammered booge—additional handwork that was intended to strengthen the concave section between the brim and bottom.
Provenance Research Ongoing Inscriptions, Signatures and Marks
Stamped twice on the underside: [lion/horse?] flanked by two columns above a rectangle w/ "DANFORTH"

Various other stamps on the underside: anchor "E", anchor "S" / (following in a shield) "J.D.", wolf, figure w/bow, inverted cross" ??? on all of the above marks
