DescriptionPotter Charles S. Kline worked in Howell’s Mills, north of Atlanta, Georgia. A churn was used to process cream into butter by agitating it with the up-and-down motion of the dasher. This motion caused the fat particles in the cream to coalesce into clumps of butter.
