Filled with heart-wrenching tenderness and laced with the anxiety only born of deep love, Rashod Taylor’s series Little Black Boy is a powerful record of his son’s childhood. Amid the civil unrest of 2020, as the long list of lost Black lives grew longer, Taylor’s worries about his son’s future grew. "He can’t live a carefree childhood as he deserves; there is a weight that comes with his blackness, a weight that he is not ready to bear," the artist noted. Taylor’s photographs balance childlike innocence with parental worry in stunningly tender compositions.
