Description

Ron Jude is preoccupied with the imperceptible forces of nature and the incomprehensibility of geological spans of time: plate tectonics, ocean tides, cycles of growth and death in the forest. Photographed on the Oregon coast, Sea Grotto (North) captures with incredible detail the split second in which a wave hits the rocky coastline. Individual drops of water hanging from the rocks and small bubbles that make up the foamed surface of the ocean are all visible, but the viewer is aware that the full power and small shifts can only be suggested, not captured within the frame.
