German immigrant Lee Kimik established a pottery in Limestone County, Texas, in the 1870s. In the German tradition, he used salt glazing for his wares.
Though its overall form is similar to pitchers made by other Texas potters, this example has a throat that extends much further down from the pouring lip than is typical.
