Deliberadamente, Torres García deja expuesta la índole
rústica y orgánica de estos materiales —madera pobre, clavos y pintura—
exponiéndolos en su plena realidad. Incluso, añade un pedazo de leño sin pintar
proyectándose hacia el espacio del observador y tornando “inclasificable” la
pieza que oscila entre pintura bidimensional y escultura tridimensional.
Trátase de un ejemplo clave de las construcciones de Torres-García, conocidas
como maderas, las cuales funden con
maestría un lenguaje no representativo con elementos de la vida real.
