BiographyBorn: 1966, Nakskov, Denmark. Studio: Copenhagen. Education: Apprenticeship 1984-88, Danmarks Designskole 1988-93. Awards: The Danish Arts Foundation three-year grant, 1999; Danmarks Nationalbank’s Anniversary Foundation grant, 1999, 1997, 1996, 1995; Danish Arts Foundation grant, 1997, 1995; Charlottenborg Autumn Exhibition Prize, Danish Arts Foundation, 1995. Art: Michael Geertsen has had his own studio since 1993, and has during the last ten years worked as a freelance designer for several companies, among others, Kähler and IKEA of Sweden. In 1999 Michael Geertsen received a three-year grant from The Danish Art Foundation.
