Technical notes and description: Of single-bed proportion and with deep drops, this glazed roller- and block-printed, quilted spread features floral bands related to the pillar prints of the same era. In reds, greens, and brown on a white ground, the design features an ostrichlike bird. The fabric is typical of the many roller-printed fabrics made in Great Britain in the early nineteenth century. The quilting is a series of diagonal lines. Raw seams are finished with a polychrome twilled tape.
