Description

In 1932 Harold Edgerton, a professor of electrical engineering at MIT, developed a high-speed stroboscopic flash unit that, for 1/75,000 of a second, was so bright it allowed a camera to record on film the details of an event too rapid for the human eye to discern. “The experience of seeing the unseen has provided me with insights and questions my entire life,” he wrote.
