[1] The auction was primarily the sale of the collection of Josef Müller (1887-1977), a Swiss art collector and curator at the Solothurn Art Museum (1943-
1967), by his heirs and family, but also included other properties. This sculpture was included in the section of “Various Properties” and is not from
the estate of Josef Müller. Per Christie’s, it was consigned by a private collector based in London (email in Object File).
[2] Identified as the property of Professor and Mrs. Sid Port in the 2002 sales catalogue.
[3] Invoice from Kozloff dates to February 14, 2004 (Object File).
[4] Arrived at the MFAH as a temporary loan, TR:997-2004, June 25, 2004, from Frances Marzio to be examined in conservation. Offered by the estate of
Frances Marzio (1947-2022) to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in 2023.
