DescriptionIn 1759, Charles Saunders was made vice admiral of the Blue Squadron, a division of the Royal Navy, and was instrumental in providing naval support to General James Wolfe’s successful campaign in Quebec later that year, leading to Britain’s victory in the French and Indian War and the end of French rule in Canada.
