Description

Erin
Shirreff defies categorization, intentionally blurring the lines between
sculpture, photography, and film. In her Signature

series, she photographed her own minimalist sculptures and printed half of two
separate images side by side on a single sheet of paper. Together they suggest
some imaginary third sculpture whose elements seem slightly amiss even as they
hint at a more complex whole. Finally, Shirreff presents her photograph like
the curled pages of an open book—both a photograph of sculpture and a sculpture
of photography.
