Present at the now infamous “Save America” rally held on January 6, at the Ellipse, just south of the White House, Mark Peterson photographed the crowd of supporters gathered to hear Donald Trump’s remarks during the final days of his presidency. Recorded at a moment when Trump’s stern eyes fill the giant display screens above the cheering crowd, Peterson’s picture conveys an ominous “Big Brother” sense of foreboding as Trump repeated false claims of election fraud and remarked “We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
