BiographyBorn: 1948, Chicago, Illinois. Studio: Helena, MT. Education: Notkin received his BFA from Kansas City Art Institute in 1970, and MFA from University of California, Davis in 1973. Art: Notkin is deeply influenced by the centuries-old tradition of Yixing pottery from which he has adopted the precise working methods and a penchant for trompe l'oeil; but uses his artwork as an extension of his conscience. For nearly twenty years he has used the teapot format to focus on military misadventures and questionable foreign policy around the world with particular focus on nuclear weaponry and energy.Person TypePerson
