BiographyThomas Warne (1763-1813) may have been an apprentice or journeyman in James Morgan's pottery. In 1786 Warne married Mary Morgan, daughter of James Morgan sr, and shortly thereafter established a pottery near by, which he later ran in association with his son-in-law Joshua Letts from 1805 until c. 1813.
Warne and Letts worked in the Cheesequake or South Amboy area along the Raritan Bay. The partnership is known for impressed stamp designs.
