BiographyThomas Warne (1763-1813) may have been an apprentice or journeyman in James Morgan's pottery. In 1786 Warne married Mary Morgan, daughter of James Morgan sr, and shortly thereafter established a pottery near by, which he later ran in association with his son-in-law Joshua Letts from 1805 until c. 1813.Warne and Letts worked in the Cheesequake or South Amboy area along the Raritan Bay. The partnership is known for impressed stamp designs.
