American, born 1961
BiographyJustin Kimball was born in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1961. He holds a M.F.A. in photography from the Yale University School of Art and a B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design. He is the recipient of grants from John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, the Aaron Siskind Individual Photographers Fellowship, and the J. A. Kittredge Educational Grant, Harvard University. His photographs have appeared in DoubleTake, Harpers, PDN, Photo Metro, and Picture magazines. He is the author of the monographs Where We Find Ourselves and Pieces of String. His is represented in collections, including the Corcoran Museum of Art, George Eastman House, J. Paul Getty Museum, Museum of Contemporary Photography, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Portland (Oregon) Museum of Art, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Mr. Kimball has taught photography for more than twenty years. He is currently an associate professor of art at Amherst College.
