American, born 1950
Currier was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1950. She first attended the Art Institute of Chicago in Illinois where she received a degree in the Fine Arts in 1972, followed by the University of Washington in Seattle earning a Master’s in 1974. She was awarded a Visual Arts fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1986 and received fellowship awards from the New York Foundation for the Arts on multiple occasions.
For ten years, Currier worked for the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Colorado in Boulder. In 1985, she became started working as an Associate Professor for the New York State College of Ceramics in Alfred, New York, where she later became a Professor of Ceramics.
