"Patrick Berthelot was born in France, I think in Paris, in 1946. His parents moved to Cannes. In 1973 he worked for, and did the printing of the photojournalist, Claude Sauvageot, in Paris. He lived in New York from 1975 until 1984. Though his subjects were tough guys in tough neighborhoods, and the New York underground scene, he also documented performances and tours of the A. Nicholais dance company (where his first wife danced.) Presently he lives and works in Cannes. His current project is an already decade long documentation of a typical (tough) bar in Cannes."
