BiographyJohn Sparagana was born in Rochester, New York in 1958. His family moved to Oak Park, Illinois when he was seven and at age seventeen, Sparagana left home to be a writer yet turned to painting instead. He received his MFA in Painting from Stanford University in 1987 and is currently teaching art at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
