Alexis Anne McCarthy is a Texas native, born in Houston. She grew up in Jennings, Louisiana. She began her formal art training at Louisiana State University -Eunice under the direction of Joanne Quilman. Attended Sam Houston State University, graduated from Lamar University with a BFA in Studio Art in May 2000.
