BiographyHoppé was born in Munich in 1878 but moved to London in 1900 to work for a German bank. He became a member of the Royal Photographic Society in 1907 and was already a highly regarded professional photographer before the outbreak of WWI, contributing regularly to Colour and Vogue.Hoppé travelled extensively in the 1920s and 1930s, producing beautiful, evocative photographic images wherever he went.
