BiographyJonathan Lowndes (Loundes) is recorded as a celebrated clockmaker working in Pall Mall at the turn of the 18th century. He was a member of the Clockmakers’ Company from 1680 to 1710 and was Steward in 1696. Several of his clocks were included in the Wetherfield Collection and he also made watches.

Jonathan Lowndes was born in c. 1657, free from the Clockmakers' Company in 1680 and worked at the Dial in Pall Mall from 1683 until c.1702.
