BiographyGiles Revell was born in Hertfordshire, England, in 1965. He studied Geology at Portsmouth University and was awarded a BSc degree in 1986. He worked first as a Geologist in the British Geological Survey and then in an open- cast mine in Western Australia.

In 1989 he embarked on a career in Photography in which he had developed an increasing and absorbing interest, drawing inspiration, ideas and analytical methodology from his background in Geological Science. His first career path segued easily into his subsequent fascination with detail and the intricacies of modern photographic technology.

Giles has also been the recipient of much commendation, including three D & AD Awards and five Association of Photographer's Awards. He has exhibited at a number of venues such as The Michael Hoppen Gallery in Chelsea, London, The Royal Photographic Society, Bath, and The Welcome Institute.

Giles's current work is on a large-scale Insect Project sponsored by NESTA, The National Endowment for Science and the Arts.
