Jules-Prosper Legastelois

French, 1855–1931
Biography(b Paris, 24 May 1885; d 1931). French sculptor and medallist. He studied sculpture with Emile Carlier (1849-1927) and medal making with Eugène Levasseur (b 1822) and Georges Tonnelier (b 1858). Legastelois's work included a number of plaquettes and medals for the Paris Mint, such as Maternity (1902), Work (1908), Horticulture (1912) and Georges Clemenceau (1929). He also executed war memorials at Epinay, Eure, and Ermont, Val d'Oise.
