BiographyTICHANE, Robin - Art conservator, artist, and champion of AIDS awareness, passed away Sunday, February 27th at the age of 56 in New York from complications of AIDS. He was one of the longest AIDS survivors in the United States. While living in San Francisco from 1976 to 1996, Robin was an art conservator to collectors, galleries, and museums, an assistant conservator at the Asian Art Museum, and an artist. He published a book of his artworks, "Robin Tichane Works: 1967-1990" and produced his woodblock series of 12 entitled, "AIDS' Dark Terrain: Twelve Stations from a Yankee Pilgrim," which is in 16 collections around the world, including the Auchenbach Foundation at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco.
