Description

In his 1974 series Whimsy, Ray K. Metzker combined four small out-of-focus, cropped views of leaves into an abstract diamond-shaped collage. He intended his black-and-white graphic construction to be open to each viewer’s interpretation, like a Rorschach test.

Provenance[Laurence Miller Gallery, New York]; purchased by MFAH, 1984.
