Description

Lori Nix’s photographs depict carefully constructed models of landscapes and urban spaces—giving the artist full control of her subjects and the way in which they are photographed. Inspired by disaster cinema, Nix’s pictures are simultaneously scenic and unsettling. Devoid of people, the photographs evoke a post-apocalyptic future. Through the dark humor of her pictures, Nix has played out myriad potential ends to humanity.
