“Staring out a window we tend to focus on the world outside and not the glass or the screen,” notes the artist Edie Bresler. This type of daydreaming removes us, mentally, from our present space and time. In order to focus on the here and now, Bresler pasted paper scraps on top of her window frames, creating abstract compositions that encouraged the artist to focus on the present and the infinite artistic possibilities presented in her own home with just paper and a camera.
ProvenanceThe artist; purchased by Manfred Heiting, Malibu, California, March 31, 1989; purchased by MFAH, 2002.
