DescriptionSwiss artist Karl Bodmer is best known for his important depictions of Native Americans published in Travels in the Interior of North America. The plates are based on Bodmer’s sketches made between 1832 and 1834 as he traveled along the Missouri River with German Prince Maximillian of Wied. This print depicts a victory dance of the Hidatsa people.
