According to this article, the sale was transacted through Paul Vallotton (1865-1925) the agent of the Bernheim-Jeune branch office in Lausanne, Switzerland. The work was shipped from Galerie Bernheim-Jeune, Paris, to Lausanne and sold to Josef Müller at the end of December 1919 or early 1920.
[4] The painting was purchased from Josef Müller by the Galerie Beyeler in February 1978 and recorded in the stock as inventory no. 8926, later being sold to Mrs. Aubrey Jones Beck on May 23, 1978.
