DescriptionThis candlesnuffer was used to trim the wick of a candle without extinguishing the flame and to maintain efficient burning. A small receptacle catches the trimmed bit of wick.
Provenance[Ginsburg & Levy, New York]; given to Miss Ima Hogg, December 1, 1956; given to MFAH, by 1966.
