DescriptionThis plate features a view of New Hampshire’s Lake Winnepesaukee as seen from the nearby Red Hill. The image was adapted from a work by the English artist William Henry Bartlett, who traveled to the United States to record scenic views that were later engraved and published in American Scenery: or Land, Lake, and River Illustrations of Transatlantic Nature.
