Technical notes and description: Cotton and wool warp and weft tied Biederwand weave cloth. The white is natural cotton, and the blue is dyed wool yarn. The use of only two colors makes this quilt relatively unusual. Woven in two panels, it is patterned with four rows of five star-centered, scallop-edged medallions, separated by leafed crosses. The bottom border is composed of a swagged garland cradling confronting fowl and resting on rosettes. The side borders are divided in half with a branch supporting a squat urn.
