Inscriptions, Signatures and Marks
Inscription: The painting is stamped twice in black, verso: "The Studio / U.S. Indian School / Santa Fe, New Mexico". The painting is inscribed in black, verso: "price $.10-- / Name--Quincy Tohoma / Home--Tabu City, Airzona (sic) / Tribe--Navajo".
There was a label taped to the verso of the frame (now in Registrar's files): "Quincy Tohoma / Tuba City, Arizona / NAVAJO / Exhibited Los Angeles Co. Museum, 3-1-39 / THE STUDIO / U.S. Indian School / Santa Fe, New Mexico".
The painting is signed and dated in blue, recto, lower right: "Tohoma / '38".
